Beginning in 2024, the P-H-M Education Foundation’s Young Authors’ Conference has partnered with the Next Gen Robotics to form “Books & Bots” This event blends literary innovations with robotic creations.Young Authors’ Conference
As a part of the morning activities, students will participate in two rotations: one with well-known children’s author and speaker, Shannon Anderson and hear from WNDU Meteorologist, Matt Englebrecht!Following these rotations, students will enjoy spending time exploring technology, with an opportunity to share a piece of their writing on FlipGrid or another online writing platform. (Writing samples are not a requirement to participate in the morning activities, however.)In addition to participating in the two rotations, families can help spread a love of literacy by donating gently used books to the Better World Books box, located near Penn’s Door D on March 2nd. Although the event is free, registration is required.
Next Gen Day (Robotics Event)
Prepare for an exhilarating journey at Next Gen Day—an interactive open house crafted for families to delve into the realms of technology and creativity! Bring your family along for a day filled with hands-on activities. Whether it’s tackling coding challenges, witnessing robotics demonstrations, engaging in LEGO building, or participating in captivating STEM experiments, there’s something for every member of the family.
Feel free to rotate through the stations featuring coding, Sphero, BeeBots, Ozobots, and Dash at your own pace. Stay as long or as short as you’d like, immersing yourself in the diverse offerings of Next Gen Day.
